One of the best things about modern technology is that you can choose to watch from a vast array of movies whenever you feel like it, wherever you are, on whichever device of your choice. Streaming services have films for all tastes and all audiences, so whether you’re looking for a film to keep all the family entertained, a romcom or a really scary horror, you’ll be able to find it.

Here’s a rundown of some of the most popular films that are currently available on streaming services.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 

Godzilla director Gareth Evans’ latest instalment in the Star Wars cycle may not have been the sequel to The Force Awakens, but was the prequel to the first film, A New Hope. In any case this standalone film promised to do something different with the franchise, and most fans thought it did it triumphantly, as it shows how, in the legendary opening of the first film, “Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon. The Death Star. Felicity Jones makes for a great heroine with her character, Jyn Erso. 

Jumanji 

With Dwayne Johnson and co’s belated Jumanji sequel, Welcome to the Jungle, one of the biggest films of last year, many people have been revisiting the original Robin Williams classic – maybe to show the kids where the film’s inspiration came from. Williams is on top form as a spirit imprisoned in a board game who takes two orphan kids on a series of wild adventures.  

Moana 

Moana is one of the most successful, and flat-out best, cartoons that Disney has ever made, and is repeating its success on Sky Cinema. The beautifully animated film tells the classic Polynesian tale of Moana, a chief’s daughter who is chosen by the sea itself to commune with the Gods and save her tribe. Another film form Disney which set to be a future classic for generations growing up. 

Captain America: Civil War 

The Captain America films have been some of the highlights of Marvel’s cinematic universe, and Captain America: Civil War proved to be no exception. In this instalment, Chris Evans’s thawed out throwback to more moral times finds himself pitted in conflict with Robert Downey’s Tony – Iron Man – Stark over the future direction of the Avengers. Soon, all Hell had broken loose. 

Frozen 

Disney’s animated version of the Hans Christian Anderson classic The Snow Queen has been one of the most successful animated films of all time, and no wonder.  The film tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on a journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal reindeer, and a naïve snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped their kingdom in eternal winter, with plenty of songs along the way.
